The theme is incosistent: while some parts tend to portray kira's love for weirdcore aesthetic, others are just space themed - rushfully remaking the level for the contest was a bad decision. (probably due to rush) The texturing is very messy, too. Makes it seem detailed on the first glance, but not many actual details are present in the level. Some parts are carbon copies of specific aesthetic imagery that can be found on the internet, which is not very original. On the space-gauntlet part, it is anything but an homage. The moon from "102 BLUES" was disrespectfully "beaten" by kira: it lost practically all teeth and had a tongue out! To add, there is a less known "homage" kira did with his level, it is in the name. "LSD: Dream Emulator" is a game that has heavily influenced dreamcore aeshetic kira is so obsessed with, hence the level name!

ultimately faint praise for arguably one of the worst offenders of its respective gauntlet contest, but I love how texture is used here. most levels, including many space gauntlet winners, end up looking mushy or amateurish - not so here. that kind of cascading pulsar at 0:38 really captures not just the look, but the feel, of a supernova going off, and the use of color and grain at 0:58 is, on a technical level, great. that to me is worth the price of admission. if we're gonna be in the age of releases intentionally designed to be watched on Youtube rather than played in-game then you may as well take it all the way

more broadly, a masterclass in how technical ability does not translate to aesthetic prowess. it's this game's equivalent of listening to technical death metal

personally a huge fan of that part with the crawling alien turning into simulations of other space gauntlet entries

Controversially, I don't enjoy this level as much. It's an okay level, but it's not any masterpiece.

Firstly, I think this level tries to be too many things at once. It tries to be an art level, but also a flashy effect level, but also an homage to Kira's favourite entries in the Space Gauntlet CC, and it just doesn't work for me. It tries to be contextualized as an emulation, but I don't buy it.

Gameplay wise, it's perfectly playable, but nothing to write home about.

The real hit or miss thing about this level, though, comes with the decoration. I think Kira's flashy style is too overblown here. It worked fine for Wannacry, since the theming of that level allowed for such type of decoration and pulses, but here is just too much for me. Even the parts I like, mainly the 3D ship part where you avoid the meteors, have too much going on.

Already an improvement from WANNACRY because at least this one was easier and the gameplay makes more sense than that level. Still it kinda suffers from a similar problem I have with that level, in that it does look really good, but I just wish I could be able to see anything and not have my eyes fried. There are some flashy levels I can be able to tolerate, but something about kira’s levels just doesn't win me too much with how flashy their levels get, and both gauntlet entries show that problem immensely. The last part before the ending cutscene is the worst case of that. Like if they didn’t consider not trying to give any players epileptic seizures.

There’s also some rather minor to kinda irking nitpicks, like the part showing off other people’s entries which may come off as pretentious to some, and the very obvious and jarring music cut at the start of the ending cutscene. These problems from a level that is still great overall did make me hesitant of wanting this to be in the gauntlet, as if it really doesn’t feel like a gauntlet entry (which a lot of these Space Gauntlet entries suffer from and even those that got in).

I still really like the effort put into this level and it wasn't as too in-your-face and unintentionally corny as kira’s latter level, but it is still considerable to point out the problems I have with the level overall. Even if it is still a high honorable mention for my ranking of these entries.

I don't think this is as good as WannaCry, but I do think it's still a solid level. The comet bit is surprisingly readable and plays rather well. The emulation part where it calls back to other Space Gauntlet entries, while honestly super condescending considering that the chances of those levels being in the gauntlet were uncertain/unlikely, it really is a nice way to cap off the Space Gauntlet contest as a whole. The song cut though is honestly bad. lmfao. That could've been done better imo.

This is a level in which I don't mind seeing in the gauntlet, but I can definitely see people having a lot of issues with the level being in it due to the fact that the level is incredibly flashy, making the gameplay a lot harder to sightread.
