I'm going to quickly defend this level before I rip it up:
I think that all things considered, it is REALLY funny to do contest bait like this where you just call back to all the previous gauntlet entries as if to cap off the experience. It would actually masterfully recontextualize all the slop realism as a simulation of some kind, which would make a lot of sense and go to explaining why it sucks.
The issue is that it tried to do this while not actually having all of the likely winners, and so the only level it calls back to that even has a chance is Planispheres. Moreover, it does the non-simulated rigging in the exact same style as the rest of the realism slop, which does not actually aid in the recontextualizing at all. Even still, I really can't help but be fascinated by the attempt, it's certainly really bold and even though I hate this level as an experience the context elevates it a lot for me.
one of the biggest fall offs ive seen in gd history. still very baffled at the fact that kira went from the poolrooms to wannacry to this. i like the idea of referencing other entries (albeit feels like a weird choice for a contest its like Haha my entry is more interesting and better than yours) but other than that its soo messy and with no real substance. some parts are good! i like the rhythm game part! but in general it just feels like another cocomelon-esque level to appeal to kids. im not super keen on it. in fact kira in general is Like a weird account cuz genuinely it feels like he came out of nowhere and started making good levels. lowkey i had a convo w a friend and we had this conspiracy theory that kira was an alt of some mod. its 99% not true and no harsh feelings to kira just wanted to mention bc its Funny how he came out of nowhere. again no hard feelings, kira wanted the bag and good for him it he gets it! i just wish the gauntlet entries didnt have to be so blehhh to win. also i wish kira made levels without having to enter a contest bc when was the last time he did that jfhrhdhrhdjdheh. i feel like if this level was less cluttered and flashy at times i would've given it a higher score, but i think i'm giving it a 4 overall. (also the song cut is Sooo funny)
don't call for the aliens if you are not ready to face the consequences. they are coming for you. with a meteor blast aimed at your peephole. not now not tomorrow.
when you need this many stars you are trying to create the universe, but such task is not approachable for a camera trigger user. go to sleep NOW
i fw this level heavy, the colors and effects in the level are so striking especially in the first cube, second half of the swing, and comet part. gameplay is whatever as usual though i find the gimmick in the comet part really cool. song cut near the end is extremely noticeable which i don't like but ig it fits the progression of the level. the emulator part is really cool by itself in my opinion but i get why people have issues with it
This genuinely one of my least favorite gauntlet levels because it's so unnecessarily flashy and barely sightreadable, also the parts have no cohesion at all so they level looks like a pile of unfinished projects mashed together into one monstrosity, not to mention the excessive use of shaders. The ending was also very off-putting to me because the level tried to position itself as the "final level as the gauntlet", which feels weird because it's almost like the creator is confident that their level is better than others and automatically deserves a gauntlet spot. Genuinely awful, I would be very disappointed if this got in
Awesome level tho 10/10
