Won’t lie this would’ve been killer for it to be part of the Space Gauntlets. This single-handedly has one of my favorite progressions and atmospheres out of any of the entries, and each part really stands out in their own way. Easily my favorite parts start after the double wave section. And while yes the level is long and takes quite some time to get there, it’s aided by how well the progression is done and how fun the overall gameplay was, not feeling unfair in any way. I found this better than most of the entries that won and I would’ve loved it more if it had gotten in. But unfortunately we don’t live in that world.
I think this level would’ve been better if those creators that have styles that are so different from each other actually brought asset to the entire level instead of letting one do most of the work in one section. Like you can clearly tell who did what here, but I think their styles are so much different than each other that the transitions from one creator’s part to another can feel jarring. Like their styles can compliment themselves very nicely and it’s sad to see that they went the traditional collab way.
However, this level is still incredible, what I previously said was more of a nitpick more than something I utterly dislike. I really like the theme here as well and each creator’s take on it ultimately works very well as a whole. I also really like the progression here, you go from a planet to an abandoned satellite to literal explosions of stars or whatever that is and then you just end up alone in space.
Definitely is a huge step up from Noel Electra.
(but plz Serponge stop doing those goofy ass gp with gravity trigger-spam and shit like that lmao, it is not that good trust)
Also, yeah no, should have placed in the gauntlets like what’s up with that
It took me a long time to actually check this one but as expected from these creators it was quite lovely. Perhaps the best pacing and progression in the contest imo, definitely should have cracked the top 10. Should really record and upload this one when I'm not feeling so lazy.
Without a doubt my favourite Space Gauntlet entry, the reason being that it's really the only level that successfully explored cosmic horror as a theme. The environment in cometface and Serponge's parts elevate the alien, almost hostile feeling, building up to an explosion of energy that AudieoVisual portrayed as the inside of a black hole. There's many reasons why this level appeals to me, but the ending contributes a lot to that; the player fading away into the vastness of space really gave a sense of completeness. Overall, a stunning SGC entry that blew my expectations away, which were already high from seeing such a stacked creator lineup.
