Lotta issues with depth and contrast, really hard to see what is and isn't an object. I also have to question the inconsistent block usage. GamerKnight puts in a lot of rendered art set pieces and then out of nowhere adds 2.0 brick blocks, random pixel blocks, and the fingerdash bats. I feel like there should have been much more thought put into the object use, this is something I feel like a majority of up-and-coming creators lack much knowledge on.
I think the theming of this level is pretty daring, lots of hell levels just allude to ideas of hell. I assume the same goes for Ascension to Heaven. Here, you quite literally see depictions of biblically accurate angels, Jesus on the cross, and many demonic lookin fellas which I would imagine have analogs to biblical demons. Kind of ballsy to have this be a weekly demon for a kids game but hey the age-appropriateness of GD has been discarded long long ago.
boring 2.2 slop. also minus points for having a terrible take at contrast. Like the point of that contest is to make a level work with interesting colours combo or more. Here, it’s just hey, I’m gonna cheat by making my level having two different themes for no reason. Heaven and Hell is a cool theme but it’s execution here is terrible. This is not contrast, that’s just two completely different themes that are not linked together, like there’s no transition between the different parts and it makes for a very incoherent level.
yeah no this level sucks, it doesn’t even look that good
the gp is pretty lame as well
GamerKnight750 got the popularity and fame from the community, he makes more level after "On Top". He created a lot more levels after that, but what now? I feel like he is not good at creating a level for Geometry Dash at all. This level feels like a devolution of his creating. 600 hours (25 days in total) for something that does not feel anything authentic of a GD level more than the player flying around. It is happening since a collab with zAdrfit level, "Memory Lane". I missed his core style in 2018-2019, we met each other via Omlet Arcade, and his core was pretty much a pure-mess, which I would prefer that rather than something like this.
While it is happy for him to be known in the community, too, with his Amethyst and Thinking Space II parts for the recent, it feels like the actual gold was lost under the pressure of impressing the community.
