Hi, my name is ChirekachiMizu, and I am biased towards Subwoofer levels. (Almost)

Criticizing all levels with the same criteria makes you look pretentious

Okay, well now for the review, the level has a very good art in general and a simple story but at least it gives purpose to the level, the thing about the gp is that sometimes it's functional and sometimes it's very simple, and it becomes confusingly strange, sometimes you have a good time, sometimes you yawn, a level that lacked energy even though it had the song to enhance it, other than that it's a level that performs well

It's a cute little level. The reason for the somewhat low score is the INSANE amount of missed potential here. When you make a "story" level in this game, you do one of two things - you either make the story extremely simple and straightforward; there isn't really any room for interpretation, and the objective is quite clear fron the start. In that case, creators usually make up for it with fun, engaging gameplay to compliment the themes and settings of the story. The second thing you can do is be cw2003 GB, and actually make the story good. Considering Subwoofer is not cw2003 GB, I'm not surprised he went with the first option.

In that case, you'd expect the gameplay to at least be really good right? Well not really. In a level where you are constantly escaping from aliens and defeating an entire invasion, I expected this level to be a lot more chaotic. Everything just kind of feels like it's in slow motion, completely contrasting the song. Honestly, there's barely a correlation between the level and the song at all, besides the parts obviously changing whenever the song enters a new section. Even when the gameplay enters 4 times speed during the most intense part of the song, the camera is so zoomed out it feels like the level is barely faster than your average robtop 1.0 level.

Now take into account how the actual gameplay has no nuance to it whatsoever; all you have to do is completely shut your brain off and you can sweep right by. Normally I wouldn't take such a big issue with it, but considering what this level tries to be, this problem hurts it a lot more than it does your average featured tab level.

I think this level was doomed to miss the mark the moment Subwoofer decided it was a good idea to use the entirety of the song. GD simply isn't optimized enough for having a level as ambitious as this using such a long song. You gotta sacrifice something, and this is the result.
