The premise of Future Funk is a combination of elements from Clutterfunk and High Life, and while I think it does pretty well at those, I don't think many people even know about it. The level has become very iconic and famous for other reasons (its length, song, or the famous 99% triple click that's the hardest thing ever but is actually not that hard if you have good nerve control).
Either way it's pretty good! Probably my second favorite Jonathan level behind Biru. The parts that I enjoy the most herebare the ones that feel derivative of the levels aforementioned, but in which Jonathan still does his own thing.
One thing I really dislike about it is its influence, not in levels by other people but in Jonathan's career as a whole. There are many tropes like the hard ending, the level to level quick transitions in short parts, or even just the levels being overly lengthy as a whole that makes me think Jonathan has been trying (and for his most recent levels, failing) to make carbon copies of itself.
Rate I would give: Star rate
Some questionable gameplay decisions but the level is undeniably iconic, I still don't understand why Jonathan levels look so different
An incredible level, I spent a lot of time playing this in 2018 and 2019 and finally beat it a year or so ago! (It took so long because it was never really on the forefront of my mind lol). I died at 99% only once but once I came back to it I beat it very quickly, the ending is probably the hardest part of the level but it’s not TOO big a of a spike, the dual is very easy to get down and everything before is pretty easy (besides the dual wave at around 50%). I love everything this level offers and it is still my favourite Jonathan level.
Pretty good level I can’t lie
gp is cool, deco is amazing for 2018 and still good by todays standards
pretty good level, sadly however unbalanced.
Beat this as my first hard demon a couple years ago. I was lucky enough to fluke it from 90%, which may influence my opinion on this level. Regardless, you can't deny that this level is a masterpiece. The idea of combining Clutterfunk (funk) and High Life (future) into one level entirely different from both (and with its own space-y stuff at the end!) worked out really well, and definitely helped boost Jonathan's creating career.
