Why does this level look so good but have the most horrendous nonfunctional piece of shit gameplay

Here is what I said on Discord about this piece of shit.

Hyper Fantasy... oh golly

This is one of the absolute most DOGSHIT levels I have had the displeasure of playing. The gameplay is really unfun and unfair. The decoration, while decent, does NOT make up for that fact. The first 30% is basically mindless spamming and isn't that satisfying to pull off. At least it's consistent.

The middle third is one of the WORST gameplay sections in any rated level pre-2.0. It consists of ship and wave sections in rapid succession. The gaps are fairly tight which wouldn't usually be an issue (it's a demon yk). But the problem is that you can't see shit. The bad transitions make this part borderline GAMBLING, except you bet all on black only for it to roll up on red 288 times in a row. Any deaths in this section just feel insanely unfair

And the ending... I died past 60 FOUR times, including a death at 88% that made me fucking crash out and slam my desk. This is an easy demon riling me up FFS

The only reason Rob rated this was because of nonexistent rate standards in 1.9, because who the fuck actually ENJOYS this level? The gameplay is pure ass. I would rather replay Death Machine or Sakupen Hell.

The absolute peak of the 1.9 neon style. It even ends early, just because the editor simply couldn't handle this greatness back then! I wish someone would revive this style, as it is extremely beautiful. Maybe that someone could be me...?
