Equaritans are a species of aquatic pony that thrive at the south pole, sometimes known as Walrus Ponies, despite having no relation to walruses.
So the purple and blue parts really aren't anything special, no, scratch that, they're kinda bad in some regards. Gameplay is forgettable and maybe this is a nitpick but the "bouncing" move effect on the platforms just isn't really done right. I do appreciate the white pillar though.
Now the greyscale parts are just something else. All of them are great and wonderfully executed. Amazing atmosphere and amazing setup for
One of the hardest drops of all time. Like dude seriously this is so good. The transition from the slow pace and peaceful atmosphere to a hellish burning planet is indescribeably well done and fits the song perfectly. Ok now after all that praise in regards to the theme and transition the rest of the drop is rather... how do I say this: questionable. Visual sync can be good but it definitely could use some improvements. Gameplay is rather forgettable too.
Then there's the bossfight and the background is very similar to the foreground and I mean that in the worst way possible. They visually clash with each other and it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Also instead of having issues with how the boss moves like many other bossfight levels would, this instead has nausea-inducing movement in the background. Huh
still remember first time i watched this when the drop hit i felt like i entered an alternate dimension. still an inexplicably surreal level, doesn't feel like it should exist, like something youd see in a dream. rating for the buffed version as it makes an already odd level just a little bit stranger
as much as Walroose is an... interesting person, you gotta admit she has made some bangers back in 2017-2018
