This one of the few levels that I am surprised wasn't added to the Water Gauntlet, because it really feel like it would perfectly fit there despite how short it was. The level does have a simple yet nice art style and does do a decent job at a build up to the drop with its somewhat mystique atmosphere. The gameplay here is fine, but that is that it solely focuses on ship and wave gameplay; two gamemodes I'm admittedly not the strongest with. It does have the unfortunate flaw on not being able to tell what kills you or not. The first ship is harder than anything else while having that problem. My experience from 0% was just me trying to pass the first ship, and I managed to beat it once I finally did pass it. That comes to show how important it would be to balance a short level like this.

I love the atmosphere here so much. The slow, calming, but eerie beginning sets up the level really well, and I find the slow gameplay to build up to the rest of the level really well. Aquatic themed levels that treat the ocean as more dark than colorful can be very intriguing, and I believe this level does it well. The level continues to be good when it picks up in intensity, I love the colors used at the geyser part and how satisfying the gameplay there is. The level ends with an escape from a sea monster, and while it’s cool, I admittedly wish this level kept a more atmospheric feel throughout. The bossfight sticks out quite a bit from the rest, though I don’t think it’s too big of a deal. Just a preference from me. As the gameplay is heavily skill based, this can definitely be a love/hate level, and although the gameplay isn’t too special for me (besides the wave-geyser section, I love that part), I find that the vibe and atmosphere this level has really makes it stand out for me.

this is by far the most boring level ive played in a long time

"deep blue sea" is a clearly sea inspired level where you navigate what looks like the depths of an ocean, where you can find all sorts of animals and obstacles

my problem with this level is how bad the pacing is. the level starts with a slow mini ship, that takes around the 50% of the whole level, where a lot of objects dont even look like they would kill you and others, like a wall that kills you depending on how high you go on it for some reason, and the song doesnt really help the pacing neither

when you finally pass this god awful ship you reach this more fast paced wave where you just have to slide on the cieling avoiding magma, which is definitely an upgrade, but still a boring gameplay gimmick

its not until around 65% where the level actually picks up a but and you actually play a bit, but its not good enough to save the level and this just falls into a boring and uninteresting sea level
