I know a lot of you weren't there, but Reanimation was an incredible level once it came out. It was a medium demon, meaning it was accessible to just about anyone who was willing to put the work into it. While obviously being influenced by Death Moon, Reanimate was still a fresh take on a theme that has been done to death. It felt kind of disjointed at times but that only added to the almost manic energy. But most importantly, there was a clear progression and a story being told, culminating in an epic boss fight at the end. Now, take everything I said and completely throw it out the window. That's what Reanimate is. Difficulty? Buffed to extreme because all popular levels are. Progression? Absolutely none, it's 3 minutes of the same glow/art combo we've seen in megacollabs a million times. It blows my mind how the team managed to take one of the most iconic levels of the 2.0 era and completely suck the personality out of it, leaving a hollow shell of a level left. 1/10.
I will admit the decoration isn't anything groundbreaking, and the gameplay does have its flaws like some bugs and inconsistencies, but I still really really enjoyed my time with this level. The visuals are really cool, and they give off the intended energy super well, in my opinion. The gameplay, while being a tad inconsistent and weirdly put together, flows really well, and it's super satisfying to pull off. Especially the second half of the level is incredibly fun, and very easy as well. Overall, I can for sure recommend this level, as long as you are willing to practice the inconsistent and unbalanced parts for a while.
It's just not really fun or good looking. The transition near the end with all the Death Moon and Reanimation iconography is pretty neat tho, although I kind of wish it was in service of something better.
