This is the greatest level of 2.1 and the peak of the Neodesign era, pushing levels closer to the core aesthetic of GD while feeling fresh and unique. Every second of this level is used excellently, and none is wasted. All the designs are superb, from the leaves, waterfalls, and trees in the beginning, to the glowy space blocks in the middle, and the absolutely ethereal drop and change in aspect ratio.

A minor nitpick I have with this level is the dash orbs and ball part in the middle of the level, right before the drop. There are a lot of gravity switches and moving blocks in this part, and it's pretty confusing to see where the player will go. I would've appreciated if deffie had added some visible S blocks to make it easier to know where the dash orb ends. Nonetheless, the rest of the gameplay is phenomenal, well-balanced, and never feels dull, which is a feat difficult to achieve in most XL levels.

Overdefo truly peaked with this level, and while it's sad to see him be much more inactive after this level, at least he ended it with a bang. Had his levels not existed, I would have never begun creating in the first place, let alone staying in the GD community, and for that, I am forever grateful of WELL RESTED's existence.

Rate I would give: Star rate
Ever wanted to play a level which, in its 7 minute runtime, manages to achieve 0 progression and not do a single interesting thing in terms of visuals? This level has you covered. It looks okay and aside from its multiple blind clicks plays okay, it's just extremely overrated. If I played the average rate session's worth of awarded levels and this was one of them, Well Rested would maybe be among the best 5 levels in it. To call it one of the best levels of all time is ridiculous

always come back to this level, with the last ball part being one of my favourite parts ever

Since the first time I saw this level being started I knew that, when it got finished, it would be considered one of the all time greatest. I'm glad I wasn't wrong. This feels like the culmination of what the neodesign movement could achieve ever since it started.

While not my favorite deffy level (although I still hold it very close to my heart) it's impossible to deny the perfection of it in almost every aspect. It's the kind of level any side of the community can easily enjoy.

Seriously one of the best things ever made in this game, so many different parts and none disappoint, the aspect ratio idea was revolutionary and insanely creative. Also just an amazing song.

The absolute peak of Neodesign, which was a much needed corrective to levels getting further and further away from the core Geometry Dash aesthetic. The level truly delivers in every way. The song, gameplay, and visuals are all so closely connected in a way that few levels match and none exceed. Changing the aspect ratio was incredibly inventive, and it's sudden pullback in the drop never fails to give me chills. This level is a masterpiece, it's one of the few levels this community is properly enthusiastic about.

WELL RESTED is very obviously a revolutionary level. It stands out from the rest of overdefo's work for having an arc to it, where his other levels even with strong progression often can feel like they're exploring one little place. That can be nice, but the variation makes this level feel grandiose. I think this is largely due to the song choice, which does a lot of lifting here. It's a beautiful level all around as all the space elements and plant life are incorporated nicely, and the variation and effects sprinkled in keep it fresh throughout. My only real holdup is that I'm just not a huge fan of design, so the blocky structures and geometric patterns that are basically there throughout the whole level get a bit boring to me, and this is kind of a big holdup. I think it really prevents the level from being interesting thematically and engaging with the song's lyrical themes. I also did not like the gameplay, which for such a long level I think should be really ironed out, but there are parts throughout the level where the obstacles blend into the environment or the path is just unintuitive. Regardless, it's an undeniably important and visionary level.

It takes so much to make something unmatchable for being the best level in the game, just for how much it represents itself and the impact it left. No other level will ever achieve that accomplishment any higher than this one.

crowning jewel of neodesign in my eyes aside the whole thing blends cinematic experience and GD level seamlessly with the title screens and transitions and worldbuilding

such a "scientifically" perfect level but i have very little emotional attachment to it sadly. it’s incredible purely on a technical level, it IS the pinnacle of neodesign like everyone says (despite how far detached it is from other levels in the style), that’s impossible to disagree with, but i think because of that it’s not something that could really be a favorite of mine. feels much more of a showcase of the style and its strengths than something i can really meaningfully connect with. i’ve kind of struggled with not “loving” this level considering its reception and the fact that it is undeniably really fucking good, but i think my inability to make a subjective connection to the level makes a little more sense now; it’s so universally good it’s extremely hard for it to feel specific and personalized. i’ve had pretty strong, complex reactions to stuff in this game before, especially other cometface levels, but this one never seemed to extend beyond awe. it’s a feat and a half, really on all counts a perfect level, but it unfortunately stops there in my mind. maybe someday it’ll really click but it just hasn’t yet
