surreal!!!!! completely singular!!!!! literally era defining !!!!!!! the drama surrounding this level and the one send it got was like a sharp turn for the game in my eyes. the very first acknowledgment of stuff like this from the folks in charge of deciding what levels get attention and it was extremely negative?! of course that would have an effect. not saying this alone is what “killed” the avant garde movement but not long after that spike in attention (albeit mostly negative) gd got updated and it seems like the more experimental creating styles that the level was born from started to disappear. it was likely a mixture of a lot of different factors that did it; new (younger) players, further divided opinions, weak confidence in sending/platforming weird levels, 2.2 more or less resetting the creating scene. it’s a shame but it’s still beautiful that we have this level as a reminder of when stuff like this actually happened

first review on this website and it had to go to my favorite level of all time. this level is the reason i started seeing geometry dash more and more as an actual art form and not Just a game. it's messy, it's ugly, it's "random", it's flashy, but no one except umru could've made this. i seriously think umru is one of the most influential creators of recent years and to be such without having any single rate is admirable: very forward-thinking, and without having a lot of experience with the editor (Pocke was a Huge help for most of his levels) he managed to make masterpieces and make lots of people re-think how they (and we) make levels, this especially goes to Deadpornstars. All that said this is very very special to me for various reasons: first of all, how creative do u have to be to even THINK about something like this and to make it too? This is not just random blocks placed with little to no thought behind them, there are some really really interesting things going on here that you cannot find in your average block spam recent tab level. Second, the song representation here is also unmatched: the music used here is Useless - On Repeat by Cacola, a song from her that has been a favorite for me ever since i played this for how emotional it is and leaves so much room for interpretation EXACTLY how this level does: when the wall of rainbow 2.1 blocks appeared as the porter robinson sample did the same halfway through i was Sold. And lastly, this is the first level to ever make me cry: from my interpretation of it i always imagined it as someone walking near these huge city walls full of stickers, graffiti, gum, just results of teenage activities, while reminiscing about how this person found love with someone of the same gender: as i mentioned before it's because of the appearance of the Rainbow 2.1 Blocks Wall, which to me symbolizes some sort of Gay awakening = getting closer and closer with this other person. The first part of the level ends with this very cathartic climax full of objects and colors and structures like an overwhelming sensation of love (spoiler: this made me cry), ending suddenly after showing the text "Life is indeed the Great Indulgence," which could be seen a few minutes earlier around halfway through the part. Everything stops to show the cube on the ground, while the level showcases every single object from the Blocks tab in their most bare bones state: pure white, unaltered. this part doesn't last for long, but it contributes so much to the level: i view this one part as a small reflection on everything that has happened in life to this person that lead them to where they are right now, like how every single object can make a level every moment in our lives can shape us as people. the level ends with the cube slowly falling up, while the level fades to black, sort of like a Wake up and keep living moment, then it's over, and you go and make memories again. All the level was was a huge reminiscence of life and love, its a huge "I LOVE YOU" to both Geometry Dash and life, and when it ended i felt a huge sense of emptiness but also motivation to Just Live: it also made me grateful for everything in my life at a time where i was starting to feel low. in a sense, this level made my life better and i can't thank umru enough for making this and for being a really close friend back then. Now he's almost fully moved on from the game and online life as a whole, so we haven't talked basically at all for the past year or so, i hope life is treating him well. This will forever hold a special place in my heart as it shaped and is shaping my current teenage years, and i feel like no level will ever come close to what this is. No one can recreate this even excluding the meaning i saw in it, this is some 4D creativity shit.
