I can't help but to not feel much for this level? I can definitely understand the appeal to this level, though.
One of the most influential levels ever, pushes the limits of what was possible back then.
Harder than it looks demon
this level looks stunning for its time. the major flaws like the 20% wave and 60% ufo bring the level down for me, also some of the clicks are VERY awkward and just seems like sudden difficulty spikes.
i absolutely adore the 70% dual wave, its so hype + builds nerves for getting there. the song is also fire, and i love the option to do the last ship upside down.
this level couldve been so good but the 20% wave and them hitboxes completely ruin the gameplay.
Death Moon has aged like a fine wine - while my experience with it back in 2019 might not have been very positive (mainly due to my very evident lack of skill at the time), my recent experience thanks to the somewhat recent Cursed Gauntlet made me appreciate this level a lot more. FunnyGame / Caustic accomplished something that very few other creators in 1.9 were able to, making a level that not only stands the rest of time, but is still considered among some of the all-time bests.
For a level actually built in 1.9, its very visually striking, and distinctly separates itself from other levels around its time. The song representation through gameplay and decoration is very impressive, and the various simple artworks scattered throughout make for an experience that is unlike other levels from this time. Personal favourite parts are the final 20%, and the UFO part with the birds and rain.
Overall, great level with great deco and great gameplay, I don't recommend it if you're doing it as a 5th demon though - trust me, I learned from experience.
Death Moon is probably one of the greatest levels in the game. For one, the decoration is extremely good for it's time. It was very creative. However, it doesn't come without it's flaws. One gripe I have with this level is the wave part. It's a fun wave and the part of the song it uses is extremely good, but the hitboxes are bugged. you can objectively die to nothing, even if you know what to look for. Additionally there is an unreliable part where the UFO can hit the top of a block far into the level. Finally, there is at least one auto part which you can die in, which I really dislike, and the gameplay is just sort of unbalanced throughout the level. I still love it, though.
AWESOME visuals for its time, just hate the first part of the level
