It looks very outdated, but it is still such a cool level conceptually. I wish I could play this level but it is still one of the coolest levels of all time. It has such interesting visuals especially for the time of its release. Actually one of the scariest levels of all time and that what makes it so good.

A level so ahead of its time, I still don't think the community has caught up with it.

Being from 2017, people were experimenting with new features quite a bunch, and Guillester adapted unbelievably quickly, dropping the layout not even a month after 2.1's release. The gameplay genuinely feels hostile, with double clicks, precise timings at every speed and being topped off by the infamous final 20%, which is done in near complete darkness, only barely able to see the tight wave gameplay as well as the spike wheels in the ship part, which leaves for a very claustrophobic ending to an already ruthless level. This hostility is only further fueled by the song choice, Bitch Punch by DJ-Nate, which true to its name as well as the level itself, feels like it's assaulting the listener with little rest in between. Cimmerian Shade uses the song well, with little breaks represented my moments of silence in the gameplay before being thrusted right back into the level, barely able to catch your breath. The decoration, while quite minimal, still stands out in my opinion, using invisible blocks and animated structures to their fullest to make the level feel alive in a way that is unique, almost alien in a way. It really adds to the antagonistic feeling that permeates through this level and ultimately captures an atmosphere that can't really be compared, dark, gritty, aggressive and befitting for a level that was just as unbelievable back at the beginning of 2.1.
