GAMEPLAY

I vividly remember playing this level as one of my first dailies in GD World, and how it instantly got me hooked on the very first play.

The visuals are nothing groundbreaking, really, but they're incredibly effective at conveying the theme and being visually appealing. The details are very well-balanced and I particularly love how Dassfy managed to make the level not look too plain despite most of the structures being in a plain colour. I also absolutely adore the bits of art scattered across the level and the small details that just make the visuals work, such as the wavy pulses in the level's top and bottom borders at the drop. The transitions just work, and they're actually pretty well-executed too. The colours are incredibly well-done, and it seems that there's been a lot of effort put into picking and fine-tuning them, as hinted by the fact that there's a colour palette template in the beginning of each section in the level editor.

The gameplay is decent, but nothing special, as expected in a 5-star. It flows pretty decently though, and the player movements feel very connected with the music at times - especially in the cube section in the beginning, which feels very bouncy, just like the song. What did stand out to me, however, is the first coin. It's so clever and makes use of what could've potentially been a skip, and encourages the player to experiment. The 2nd coin is OK and the 3rd coin in the ending cube section is easier than the main route, so I'm not particularly a fan of it. It also seems that the auto ship part before that cube used to be a wave section, and I don't know why Dassfy nerfed it in such a weird way, but that's up to him, I guess.

The song choice is absolute peak, and this level is single-handedly responsible for making me a Cloudfield fan, so I'm thankful for that.

Overall great level, not the most mind-blowing thing out there, but it's pretty nostalgic to me so this opinion might be biased :P
