I made the MrBeast comparison on my review of Rage Quit, and I think that's a part of how these levels are both loved (GD Awards, YT views, basically the kids that make up 80% of the GD community) and hated (twitter, low review scores on here). On one end you have a (young) audience whose minds are blown by what they are seeing and they love this style and praise it as the unquestionable best thing ever, and on the other is a (probably older) audience of people who desire works with more emotional depth and see the current meta of Legendary/Mythic Gauntlet Winners as pointless key-jangling eye candy. Similarly, MrBeast is often critiqued for intentionally removing any semblance of personality from his on-screen presence and popularizing a mind-numbing "meta" that many believe has a negative effect on YT as a whole. And yet, despite those critiques, comparisons to the antichrist, and a few scandals in the past year or so, there is a huge audience that still lovingly eats up whatever he has to offer. Three Hundred and Eighty Million Subscribers. Think of how Successful iShowSpeed has been in the 2020s, as a YouTuber, streamer, and cultural icon. Multiply that by TEN, and you wouldn't reach Beast's sub count. In addition to levels becoming more formulaic, this "meta" may lead to further division, conflict and polarization in a community that hasn't exactly been a loving garden of harmonious discussion.
