Honestly I can't hate this level. It's very funny and also I get the impression that it's actually sincere, which is more than I can say for 75% of the shit that comes out today.
One fantastic part surrounded on either side by several aggressively mediocre ones.
The idea and execution are really cool, it's just not a level I would ever play.
This is the best top level in a very long time, maybe close to a decade. And it says a lot about top levels that this is still only really a 5/10
I'm very torn on this level. From the perspective of a creator, I actually really like this level. Bli is clearly a skilled creator in a way that most people aren't, specifically in his understanding of what you as a player can reasonably pay attention to. This level "cheats" a lot with its designs, taking shortcuts that look janky when you pause but look good in motion. Chains are made of text, rocks don't line up properly, objects are scaled to fill space, etc. As a creator who tends to go over the object limit and add more detail than necessary, this kind of awareness of what is and isn't necessary in the visuals is super impressive to me.
And yet I cannot help but dislike this level. For however artfully done it might be, none of the aforementioned techniques are put toward something I find truly interesting. The level has a lot of spectacle but very little to chew on. The gameplay is almost completely mindless, with jump indicators telling you everything you need to do basically. It's just stylistically very boring to me, and so I can't realistically say I enjoy playing it.
