suspect this is one of those ‘if you knew and loved the song before you saw the level, it would feel really unfitting and disappointing’ but i didn’t get around to grouper yet and still haven’t so i can appreciate this level’s truly unique atmosphere for what it is

one of the first platformers i saw that genuinely impressed me, definitely one of the first really hard ones. very tasteful use of pixel blocks and effects. great theming all around, the silly story, the rather psychedelic mountain itself, and even the name. free solo is the actual term used by people who climb mountains, for doing it without any safety equipment, i think. it’s a great fit for gd, there’s like actual classifications for the hardest routes completed in the different genres. mother natures demon list
