Rating Curve

it's the most obvious quality of this level so i'll start here, ill always defend this levels truly stupid name. was chosen in a twitter poll akun put up as like a joke 'idk fill this space' entry and pretty obviously its the one that got picked, and akun, being such an interesting creator because he's bringing memory levels into more extreme spaces, naturally gets approximately way too many comments about limbo, even though his style doesn't resemble limbo really at all. so as a clapback, "ruining" one of his levels, probably the most akun level hes yet produced, with a name like this i think is pretty fitting. i can see myself doing the same. it's also that it really owns that name too, limbo is in the pretty high percentile of fucked up gameplay in parts but the craziest parts in this level absolutely blow any of it out of the water in terms of sheer shock value, like That Wave just straight up does not look possible, honestly more so than even "obviously stupid hard" top extremes like slaughterhouse, it breaks my mind that this has been verified and has two victors at time of writing, not a feeling you often get anymore. really the main thing holding it back is that the deco could definitely be better and shows signs of rushing in parts, but as with find the answer by qalli, i'm more happy it was finished quickly than having gone through an arduous decoration phase that it would "deserve" (looking at you, ascension to heaven), coz the gameplay is the big reason it's so interesting and abrasive. it definitely still looks good enough in the parts that matter, and the end screen is incredibly fitting and fun to look at also
