really takes its time to unfold the right way, something very few levels are brave enough to do. gorgeously composed for the first two thirds and the last part’s change in style would be jarring anywhere else but the way it works with the song here feels incredibly intentional. beautiful work, one of the only gd levels to make me cry
far and away the best themed level in the game. everything is so meticulously designed and it really, Really does look like it’s rotting, the amount of love and care required to make the level look as gross as it does is unthinkable. such a treat to look at in the editor too
the bossfight is really the centerpiece of this level and it’s fantastic. i say that as someone who usually despises bossfights, but this one just makes sense in the context of the level and doesn’t feel tacked on in the slightest. both of the encounters have really creative attacks and the monster itself is iconic!! certainly one of the best in the game, if not the best. it’s one of my favorite rafer levels, the light theming is a great addition and it’s really exciting to play.
only hypercube level i've played besides the epic auto so far but this is leagues ahead. the ideas in technoloid are used far better here when paired with actual gameplay, which itself is creative for its time. the level simply gets to do a lot more (and in turn be far more impressive, honestly) because of the fact that it's not just an animation; the custom orb designs are fantastic and it's just very well composed generally. and all around great stuff, really the wrong levels getting attention!!!
this was my all time favorite level for a very, very long time. it's an incredible little experiment in minimalism and its position in my favorites has stood strong, even if it's not at the very top of my list anymore. the ease at which it represents the song with such bare decoration is stunning; a twenty-second part in the very middle with absolutely no moving objects or sharp movements being more tense than most 4x speed sections in extreme demons is beyond impressive. the only things present throughout the level excluding the bare gameplay elements are either lumps of intersecting lines or lyrics to the song written out, the latter of which would be a huge negative usually as i don't care for transcribed lyrics in levels but they manage to stay aligned with the rest of it visually and tonally so it's just another great feature.
also worth noting despite its extreme simplicity the transition into the chorus is jaw dropping.
great buildup, great release. people complained about this one an awful lot when it came out because of the difficulty and i think it kept a lot of those people from really appreciating the level because they were so caught up on the number three on the level page. it's simple structurally but brilliantly executed and represents its song very very well, not even that hard either. folks just Don't Get It
grok please generate a geometry dash level
best platformer in the game by a thousand miles. this thing is stunning, every single little section has so much care and attention to detail it's insane. 30 minutes into my first playthrough and i was still discovering new areas of the map lol. really feels like its own little world. favorite parts:
- the little flowers made of pink pads (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
- the teleport portals between the blue orb and yellow orb structures
- the sun and smaller yellow orbs revolving around it
- the bottom right fire section that was painfully hard to get into without red orb access
- the blue orb waterfalls (and the delightful combo challenge that goes along with it)
- the overgrown yellow pink and red orb semicircles in the bottom left
very fun to figure out. i played the first part for like three whole minutes before i figured i was doing something wrong lol </3
