Honestly don't really have much to say for this, it was a level made for oddmod to show their love towards the wave gamemode and all the players that excelled at it. It's not too outstanding but I'd say the quality of some parts are definitely much better than some of the other parts, but it's been a while since I've last seen this so I don't hold myself with that high of a proper opinion for this. I think it's just barely off the mark of being rate-worthy for all the way back when this level was created as the deco just remains nearly the same almost the entire way through and doesn't do anything new with either the deco or the gp. It is a fun little watch though so i'd almost agree with this going on the new tab based off of that factor alone tbh, it's close enough to the standards anyways that I think it would be fine.

Through the Gates is a level that was made all the way back in 2018 and was more than likely rate-worthy for the time as evident by the date of exen's original "rebeat". However it took until almost 2024 for the level to be legitimately verified by zoink and it was placed above firework on the unrated demonlist.
The decoration was good for the time it was made but it has definitely aged poorly with some of the colors clashing with an example of this being the ship at 0:29, the white and blue don't go together at all and just bring down the overall quality of that part. The colors don't clash as much in the coming parts but the overall saturation of the brightness in several of these colors and block designs bring it down a notch despite the block design not being the worst thing ever. The part at 1:00 just looks way too empty and is arguably the weakest part of the level decoration-wise and the part after that just honestly looks messy and cluttered in the block design all throughout the whole part. The last part is probably the best part of the entire level deco-wise in my opinion as it doesn't try for anything cluttered or bare-boned and it just sticks with good color usage with the neat mini-block effect and pulses in the background, if that part was extended and turned into a full level on it's own maintaining that style it would probably be rate worthy to this day.
The primary thing I can comment on for the gameplay of this is the difficulty spike from 78-100 compared to 0-78%, Septagon7 and HSW (both who are victors) have said that TTG is the modern-day equivalent of Thinking Space in regards to it's balancing which should really put it into perspective for you. Septa claims that the gameplay is super satisfying to pull off once you're actually able to string chokepoints together and honestly, I can kind of see it. This level is way out of my skill range so I can't comment directly on the matter at hand, but that's not the point I am trying to make here
I'd argue given the timeframe this level was made it should be placed on the rated+ tab, but I can 100% see why others on the rating committee would vote the opposite as it is quite dated and aged kind of poorly in some parts. Old messy levels like this from back in the day are pretty nostalgic to me though so I could 100% be biased in this.

another part of an application for the voting committee
When it comes to reviewing levels for the rated+ tab, I think qualifications shouldn't solely depend on the deco and also the playability of the gameplay in itself. Quanteuse Processing to me is nothing more than a joke quantum processing remake that doesn't take itself seriously and doesn't try too hard in either the gameplay or the decoration department. BlankB's gameplay looks like something you'd find out of a 2015 toshdeluxe impossible level showcase and doesn't look playable to any given extent. Renn's deco maintains the same general theming from quantum processing and expands on it with new twists (e.g. the first wave, the 70% ship, and whatever the hell the last cube is). All in all, I generally don't understand the hype behind quanteuse and I don't think it's rate worthy and should be excluded from the rated+ tab because this is pretty much just, low death (a destroyed a megabuffed version of someone else's level). Maybe i'll warm up to this eventually but as for right now i don't think this level should be added to the new tab for pointercrate.

Wrote this out for my voting committee application for the demonlist and i figured i'd just repost this here
limbo but uwu ig idk is another example of akunakun sticking with his repertoire of almost exclusively memory levels, and this is no exception in the slightest. However despite being probably his most unhinged level by far, I'd also argue this is easily his best work deco-wise.
I'm gonna look at the visuals first and foremost as i have not played the level and therefore have no comment on the gameplay: The main observation I have is a fairly front and foremost one as it's thrown in your face in every part, the level is insanely vibrant and colorful and that characteristic stays consistent throughout the whole level from start to finish. This level doesn't try to do anything new decoration-wise and leaves that objective up to the gameplay of the level which goes hand in hand with the decoration to deliver a brand new experience never seen before in any kind of memory level
The gameplay is something I cannot comment on due to having no prior experience on the level itself but all the victors I've found all agree on a common consensus that the level is incredibly fun to learn and play. However since it is a memory level it is likely to be extremely learny, and akunakun really decided to ramp up the memory aspect of it a notch as can be seen in the buildup cube, the dual, and the wave, which all utilize a lot of new 2.2 features to create some of the most learny gameplay of the current update to this day. If i was at the skill level and had the free time I would 100% go for this level despite the learny nature of the gameplay.
The name of the level is arguably the most controversial part of the level which had the community up in turmoil, my thoughts? It's a funny name who cares that shouldn't a) get the level, which is fine by itself, hate or b) deter it from being rated as it meets the quality to be rated but is another example of the level being stiffed by the rating system despite it being a perfectly fine memory level.

i beat this for my 200th extreme demon on may 14, 2025, given the lineup behind the level i expected it to be pretty good but unfortunately for me that was not the case. i had a few complaints about the gameplay in several different spots which really brought down my enjoyment as these turned out to be pretty prominent chokepoints throughout the level, as satisfying as lumpy's (28-35) part is to do it can get pretty annoying to play overall, the slope at 37% in unes' part can also sometimes just tweak out and not work which i'm 90% sure is because of 2.2. My biggest complaint probably has to do with the mini-cube section in shock's part (45.83%-46.75%) but that's probably just not consistent because of me being dogshit lmao. gecko0's part (53%-60%) has some weird clicks (such as 55%) but all in all it's not an issue too much. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about hinds and licen's part though (68%-77%), this has probably got to be one of my favorite parts in all the extreme demons i have beaten it is such a satisfying part to play oh my god. Darwin is a little bit weird to play with a hard wave and some silly slope gameplay which can often times work more against the level than in codepedence with it (77%-84%). Aquatias/Scrumpy + Giron/Smokes are also decently consistent minus a bug at 94% which can kill you randomly without any explanation (i avoided this bug by retarting my game and then doing a practice run of the level afterwards and if i didn't get the bug i would literally stay in that session). I did die to 99% twice and 98% once so i can't really say i enjoyed this too much when I should have beaten this three times tbh. Now as for the deco, it's absolutely timeless and is insanely reminiscent of each creator's recognizable style and i mean this as a compliement. You see levels often trying to overdecorate for the sake of getting a rate so seeing a level where each creator does what they want without overdoing it is such a cool thing to see, i'm going to bed now i'm tired

i beat artificial ascent as my hardest demon on october 25, 2021 when it was placed at #99 on the demonlist and it has forever changed my perception on my own skill for the better and has taught me that if you really want something, you're gonna have to work for it. That being said I'd like to say this is easily one of the best megacollabs to ever graze the game and will always remain a timeless masterpiece even in 2025 which will always make you feel good whenever you beat it. The gameplay is really close to a 10/10 but michigun and anthrax's parts felt like a mindblock with how stupidly hard they are compared to the rest of the level and make the level as difficult as it currently is. The decoration has aged really well and is easily some of my favorite decoration out of any extreme demon in this current day and age with my favorite parts deco-wise being hinds, wamiq, etzer, and serponge. I would 100% recommend this level to anybody that wants to beat a new hardest as it is fun and consistent practically the entire way through.
while this level isn't the worst thing ever, it's age has definitely shown in recent times and the gameplay isn't the best to be honest. The deco is barebones and lacking besides the effects which aren't even anything spectacular in itself, and the gameplay feels like it wasn't playtested at all due to the spectacular balancing with some things being harder than others (35% click, 55-58, 63-67, and some stupid clicks in the cube at 78%) I wouldn't recommend this unless you are above the skill level for this as it'll likely feel incredibly demotivating just to die a the same things over and over again
i've always been an absolute sucker for vlacc levels and this level is no exception. i would honestly even go as far as saying this is currently the best traditional memory level in the game even beating out some of the more popular memory levels like limbo, ditched machine, troll level, and free level. vlacc is probably my favorite gameplay creator in the whole game because everything he makes is fun without exception and this level is quite probably some of the most fun i've ever had in this game in general, it's got memorization which i'd argue is a more underappreciated genre of levels in this game and is one of the only levels i've ever come back to play time and time again. The decoration and theming line up absolutely perfectly with the level name, being a hex code of the color white, and despite the deco and theming staying the same it never feels boring to play through and look at. easily one of the greatests of all time vlacc never misses
This is without a doubt the most emotional level in the game I have ever played or even seen, the amount of emotions that have surfaced while watching this while either lucid, drunk, or high are some of the most i've ever felt during this game and is one of the only levels to genuinely make me cry after beating it. This was started all the way back in 2.0 and was finished up last year by Zeptrus in honor of TSguy, a former member of the gd community who ended up taking their own life, fly high leo.
I'm going to get into the level now with this part of the description, I will be referencing MasterOfDonkeys' description as he puts it beautifully. The interpretation I've picked up for the level was it being split into three different segments: The Predrop, The Drop, and The Postdrop:
Predrop - The predrop is pretty much representative of life right down to a tee. Sometimes it's straightforward, sometimes it's confusing, sometimes it has it's ups and downs, all represented through normal gameplay elements such as straight flying, the memory parts, and the different ways the player is sent up and down throughout this predrop. This predrop builds up to the drop extremely well with the different melodies all throughout.
Drop - The way I interpret the drop is how it represents the act of well, dying. despite it not being instant, it's paced evenly and elegantly with the bright and flashing colors of the drop until you get to 68%. Both the song and level pick up pace here, making way for an ascension sequence. The ship at 73% with the stuttering speed changes matching the sound just feels like a hint of uncertainty, which also fits in with the theming of death in itself. After this ship part, the level proceeds to speed up more and get to what I feel is the climax of the level, this wave part will never fail to give me chills down my spine as everything in this part just screams like it's your time to go, which the player abides by when the drop concludes.
Postdrop - To me, the postdrop resembles what happens after death, albeit it may not represent an afterlife at first, however it feels more like a reincarnation as the first part of this matches up exactly with the very first part of the level, which gives an illusion imo. The ship after that takes a bit more of a scenic route with the gigantic and colorful stars just sprouting out making the part just feel more relaxing and beautiful. The last cube to me just feels like the last stretch or the last ascension to the eternal heavens, and to give extra credit the cube matches well with the backing piano melodies as you go on and on. After making it through the last cube part, you are sent up as the level fades out into white, symbolizing the ascension to heaven.
The impact this level has on me emotionally and mentally will never be undermined for as long as I live. I remember the day the level was showcased for the first time, I had already been struggling mentally and had contemplated taking my own life on multiple occassions (as well as attempted twice in the past couple months prior to august 2023). Since this level presented itself as a tribute to someone who had also taken their own life in the past it just made the overall final result of this hit way harder than I ever expected it to. The pieces that this level portrays in not just the way the level progresses but also the amount of raw and visceral emotions that can be invoked from even something as simple as watching this level are undescrible as is something that needs to be witnessed and experienced firsthand.
This is easily the best level in the game and i doubt anything is going to change that in the slightest for me, no level has ever had this amount of an emotional chokehold on me and i am incredibly thankful for this level coming around when it did as i felt like it saved my life.
just because a level is revolutionary and changed the history of the game from a certain point onward, it does not mean it's good gameplay wise. bloodbath has always been seen as this titan of geometry dash due to the impact it had on release and the amount of time it took for the level to get a single victor in the form of quasar. the visuals aren't anything extraordinary for the time but still hold up decently well but oh my god the gameplay is some of the worst i've ever played in an extreme. the balancing is awful given that the level is literally just either dying to michi or getting to etzer with literally zero in between which just makes the level incredibly mindnumbing to play from zero. even after beating it at least 75 times and with a guitar hero controller, i'd recommend anyone to tread cautiously if they want to play this, or sometimes i even recommend an outright different level entirely
