Godawful and unplayable, especially so when compared to Altergame XVII which was only a few months prior. Though, if it’s intentionally designed to be frustrating and miserable, does that make it “well-designed” if it succeeds at that? Maybe in some instances out there, sure, but I certainly don’t feel like I would apply it in this case.
In desperate need of a style of its own, the repeated asset use from Celeste itself feels more like going 'Wow you guys know this game? Remember this game?' and then not doing anything interesting or unique with it. Frankly not any better than the abundance of shit platformers it inspired from the start of 2.2
