I used to not be very keen on this level but it seems to have grown on me, for better or worse. I don't know, I guess I just really like the theme. I can't imagine actually playing it though, let alone completing a practice run.
From what I can gather, the gauntlet contests seem to be based on how flashy, audacious, and overbearing the level is. The judges must have a severe case of arrested development if I correctly expect them to be amazed by such obnoxious 2020 VFX demo reels such as this. So many levels of this caliber rub me in such a wrong way, "bro-core" is what I call it. It's the same aesthetic seen in YouTube shorts, and groomer video essays with annoying subtitles that sync up with everything the narrator is saying. Why do people still think this looks good? The reason this pisses me off so much is because I have a very strong belief that we are beyond this. People should be capable of creating good, memorable levels that don't fall under this many layers of oversaturation.
