This level's pretty. It's very slow, and a lot of people aren't gonna want to go through this much effort for a non-demon. Very good song representation and a clear artistic vision, though. I could see this being a very impactful piece of art for the right kind of person.
It's not every day I remember a 6-7 star months after playing it. Solid work.
GREEN DEMON MORE LIKE PEAM DEMON
Such a charmer. It's really fun figuring this one out in real time; I suggest you go into it blind and explore.
Gameplay and visuals take a backseat to the concept here. They're both great, don't get me wrong! But conceptually this is just such a masterwork and it blows your mind the first time you get through it. And that ending, god. What a trip. This level put a smile on my face when I played it and I hope it does the same for you.
Who doesn't love Acu? Honestly, it feels like the only reason people don't beat this as their first extreme is because everyone beats it as their first extreme. I was reluctant to until I tried it and realized the level is this beloved for a reason, even by people who've beaten much harder extremes.
Acu's satisfying, snappy, and engaging throughout. The gameplay flows beautifully and syncs perfectly, making it pretty damn easy to learn and quite consistent. I never really found myself getting stuck on a specific click for very long. My only complaint is that the beginning can be a little boring, but what extreme isn't at least a little boring to play from 0?
As for the visuals, they've held up quite well over the years. I've always loved neigefeu's style, and though this level was visually very dynamic for its time it's not quite so standout now that extremes look like anything and everything you could even imagine. Even now, though, Acu's a very pretty level.
A level that's definitely deserved to finally get its flowers over the years. A pain to learn for sure, but satisfying as hell to master. Surprisingly well-balanced too; there are about three or four specific clicks that stand out as especially difficult but they make the level exciting. Getting past 26, 37, 44, 70 and 87 definitely feels like a BIG deal.
Perfect song representation too. The visuals are pretty in a way that is pleasantly unobtrusive. They're not trying to wow you, they're concise. When the level explodes into color at the halfway mark, it's really quite something. Definitely a level where the craft is visible in a nice way. It's like greeting an old friend.
Overall remains my favorite extreme to date. I started playing it four years ago and have only just recently been able to beat it, and never once did I lose interest. A fantastic level.
