I've beaten around 38 extremes as of uploading this rating. And of all the hard ass levels I've gone through the trouble of completing, there is only one level that has not only always captivated me, but was a god damn treat to complete as well. Cognition is by far the best level I've had the honors to beat, and by far my current favorite extreme behind Anathema (which I haven't beaten yet). There is just so much to love about this level. It's satisfying, it's classy, and it makes you feel like a pro while playing it. The song is one of the best songs used in an extreme demon and I stand by that; I LOVE electro swing Esque music. The deco works so well with the old timey yet modern mashup that is Cognition and I love it to bits for it. Oblivion could never.
Neutra is a level I have weeks' worth of recent experience with, and I can say with confidence that it is a special level. Its theming is entirely unique, its song choice is creative, and it has gameplay that looks somewhat simple on the surface but is actually REALLY complicated when you start to learn it. That doesn't make it bad in the slightest though, just incredibly difficult throughout. There is no part in Neutra that is 'easy' for me, nor is there a part I've truly mastered. It's easily the most difficult thing I've ever gotten close to beating (and I will finish it off) or have progress on apart from ONE level (which is unrated). In my opinion it's a heavily underrated, yet extremely high-quality level in all regards, and no matter how bad my experience is currently, I'm glad I went for it. My one problem with it is that it's visuals are BLINDING. I have to turn my brightness to 75 or lower to play it without hurting my eyes.
