I have a lot of respect for levels that are stupidly long like this one, but it's just not that fun to play.
Warns you at the start of the level that it's going to be long and still puts everyone at shock for how it seemingly never ends, the simple humour of this nightmare experience is simply brilliant and even if you choose to give up on its atrocious balancing youll find something to remember it for nonetheless. I dont think this demon is explicitly meant to be beaten, it just toys with people's determination until theyve wholly lost the point, the rooms look rather amateurish but there's ever so slightly enough charm to each of them for even the more casual players to not close out of the level too soon. It's a great display of inoffensive trolling, people blame its design not realizing that it is what makes it so memorable to begin with, I may not have had the smoothest ride with the gameplay myself but completing the entire thing was incredibly gratifying and I found every second worth it. Side note but im a big fan of how collections of rooms act like a bundle of sorts, there's a lot to say about how well the level is at making you believe you're progressing forward
very unsure of what to think about this level, i appreciate what it does and its place in platformer history, but the level itself has always been kinda strange. i dont mind the deco and i do like how simple it is (even though it had to be), but the colours used for like the entire level are strange picks. the gameplay is fine, my entire skillset is needle so this level is very easy for me, but needle is easy to make bad so the fact that it's fine is pretty impressive (considering its 2000 fucking rooms long). it's very funny to me how this level is intended to be a kind of "tutorial" for hard platformers, but robtop fucking hates rating needle levels so the skill gained from this level is hard to apply. (most needle levels rob rates have some stupid ass gimmick, htp never teaches any gimmicks)
definitely a level
I actually like the gameplay a lot, and there are some pretty cool ideas! VERYYYY tedious to beat however...
Not as bad as one would expect it to be. About 5% of the rooms are actually an issue, though, while the rest is very mind-numbing. I also did NOT!!!! like the high gravity floor!!! Very satisfying to overcome, however. I like it for the spectacle it is, but I assume most wouldn't find this fun.
The journey to get to the get to the end is very painful, but it feels really good when you finally reach the final 200 hundred rooms .
I mean it does help you try to get better at the game... that doesn't excuse it for being a literal nightmare to go through.
