Been kinda putting this level on hold cause if I'm being completely honest with you, I don't know how to rate it tbh. On one hand, I do think this is impressive on a technical standpoint, but on the other... its not much other than just Osu being put into the game.
After thinking a bit more about the level, I decided to settle with a 5.5. Slightly above average. It's pretty funny as to how y'all think its the worst thing out there in the platforming scene, but there are some criticisms I can agree with. (This being a recreation and such)
As a person who has played Osu in the past, I think mania is more suitable than standard in terms of the platformer game genre. All there is in this is just clicking circles, and not really much else. You're better off playing Osu than this though. There's plenty more content over there than there is here, hell, you can even play the maps that were made here on Osu.
The reason as to why its more of a 5.5 instead of anything lower is not just because of its technicality, but also... I like to think that someone out there in the GD Community has probably started playing Osu thanks to this level. Like some kid wanted to go ahead and try out this level, and then they'd started trying out Osu to see what else the game has to offer (even mobile players could try it out thanks to Lazer offering support to them). Sure, GD is not the most ideal game to introduce a different source of media, but then again, I am also the same person that watched No Game No Life at the age of 12 thanks to playing Horizon... surely there are some other people out there that have also been introduced to something/someone through GD right?
Overall though, while I could just hop on the bandwagon and rate it low, its technicality and its means of introducing it to someone to a different video game, I'd like to see those things as the main benefits for the level. Again though, you're better off playing Osu than this, as it offers a lot more than what this has, and its also just a game recreation. Oh, and also mania is more suitable as platformer games than standard.
I still think that the Russian frog level and Dead Device are probably the worst levels the Legendary Rate has to offer. This ain't even close to that callibur.
why not just play osu? even mobile has support now thanks to lazer
dont really know what this is supposed to do other than that (especially since the maps were submitted)
will give some points for at least being more interesting in design... at least compared to unblock master
Not the most engaging thing in the world and certainly begs the question "What does this offer in a way where it separates itself from the original game" but I really do appreciate the technical skill brought up to this. To me GD trigger work and engineering has much to be appreciated beyond a "hurr durr spectacle", it is its own world of problem solving, to me a valuable art and something OTU brings in droves.
Possibly the worst rated platformer in the entire game. I'm probably blanking on some other levels but I genuinely can't think of anything else this worthless and badly designed right now
Unblock Master but slightly more original
There's so many things you can do your time, and someone decided to do this... What's the point supposed to be? Whenever you want to start working on any project, before you even start, you should ask yourself: Is this going to be useful? Is this going to be interesting? Is this going to be fun to do? If the answer to all three are no, then you're probably wasting your time. I think that for the making of this level, the answer to the first two are evidently no. Now, I don't know if the creator had fun making this, but I can't imagine that making a one to one copy of something that already exists could be fun. If they had fun creating this, then good for them! I hope that's the case at least...
Yeah, this is actually beyond terrible in terms of porting a game to GD. And beyond that, it's still a port.
@Amphy I'm on it boss, you just gotta wait til 2027 :insan:
can we normalize making our own games
Game recreation, doesnt offer anything worthwhile over the original
