(Completed in 9/18/25)
(I know nothing about Mount Eerie or the album this level is named after, so I'm just gonna critique it in how I enjoyed playing the level overall.)
It's really cool to find a level where you immediately fall in love with the song it uses, and this is one of those cases. It perfectly fits the happy vibe the level gives off and it overall makes the playing experience so much better. The level was also just so much fun and I had almost no issues with it. Maybe if it was a slight easier to see stuff in it would be total top-notch, but it perfectly fits my kind of style of gameplay, basically all of it was very enjoyable all around, and it goes very well with the music. For this being BrainETR's first 2.2 demon, this was a great start.
Total Attempts: 52
Not really offended much by the lack of actual music off of Night Palace here - probably just as simple as being named after something the creator likes - but the actual song choice itself happens to be unbelievably obnoxious
Has a lot of semi-sync parts in the level, and those parts flow really well with the song. Not too complicated either. There isn't really all that much in terms of the deco department and camera controls, so the gameplay isn't all too much overbearing, in which for 2.2 standards, this is deco that I can appreciate. Every now and then there needs to be some form of just simplicity in a level, and this level really is just that, simple. And compared to the stuff that we'd normally have in 2.2 levels, it's quite charming.
something about this level's ties to Night Palace the [Mount Eerie] album has deeply rubbed me the wrong way since I first saw it. who listens to this album - dense with prose about nature, spirituality, colonization, ignorance, violence, wisdom, and all four elemental nations to boot - and comes out the other side with something this nonconfrontational? seriously?
