I will never forget the feeling of pure awe the first time I saw the effect. The background sky you've been looking at all this time? The one you've seen for years and years, so much so to the point it's nothing more than an afterthought? Turns out it's an illusion, and it opens up to reveal what it's been hiding the whole time: Every End. This feels like a final boss to GD. I'd compare this level to Makima if that makes sense. Quite possibly the best effect of all time.
At the same time though... While the gameplay absolutely fits the theme, there's only so much you can really do with such a restricted palette, and it just doesn't stay interesting for 8 whole minutes. Gonna have to take some points off
One of the few levels where watching it and playing it makes you genuinely feel something, every click, chokepoint, beat of the song, and subtle visual effect as you progress through the level has gave me a feeling I've felt in no other level at this kind of difficulty. It feels surreal to reach the second half of Krmal for the first time (62) and even moreso reaching lolwut at that 1 click (88).
As a verifier, you get to talk to the creator about their level, and I did many many times with mindcap, and more and more I came to appreciate just how insane this level is, the complexity and difficulty of even making it, the story behind it, inspiration, secret ways, fun facts about certain parts, that really come to make me love this level even more.
Yet there is 1 flaw that I HAVE to mention. The gameplay is some of the worst and most sleeper gameplay I have ever had to play, and feeling forced to have to play it so much as the verifier really did just ruin any enjoyment that I could've had with this level(although being able to stream it definitely helped a bit), I definitely would've enjoyed this more if I wasn't the verifier, or I wouldn't have even played this level at all.
I won't even lie this is one of my most watched levels ever, and especially now that I've finally finally beat it, I can watch it and feel extremely proud of that accomplishment
I think the concept behind Every End is something incredibly admirable, but I don't think it was executed perfectly. I'm not a fan of how the hitboxes for some blocks are altered (which I feel goes against how everything is laid out in front of you), and I also think that it drags on way too long. Still a pretty good level though- the main effect by Djoxy is iconic at this point.
