Trinket is a dynamic and fairly polished first serious level from razGMD. The designs themselves are pretty clean, although some parts could have been improved by utilizing smoother movements (mostly not having movements start directly on-screen) and some effects to make it a little less static in some parts. What really stands out are the simple but clean transitions, which really tied parts together well. Although there's not too much unique in terms of block design or air decoration, it makes up for it with the variety and cohesiveness. Raz could use possibly less dull colors and some better color schemes to make the designs more eye-catching, but overall, the designs are palatable. As for the gameplay, it fits the song quite well, especially with the bouncy movements, and it is pretty fun overall. The transitions are a little sudden at times which could have been avoided by using a few jump indicators, but it doesn't pose a huge problem for playability. It flows well for the most part, although it may get a little repetitive and the end parts fall off a little bit. The difficulty is pretty consistent, and it's enjoyable overall.
Trinket by razGMD has a decent execution, being a clean modernistic level containing some different designs throughout the level.
At first point, whole level feels really clean in a way it has nothing intrusive or annoying for a player. Being intuitive and understandable for its difficulty, being also well balanced on almost every aspect of a level. I still want to point out some things like the lack of indicators after first part and over the rest of the level, it's not annoying but for example. Considering 0%-20% part contains these but not 50%-70% makes level in some aspect feel unfinished, but as a detail it would be nice to see continuity on it. Also helping to see parts less empty in case these are, but i feel this level has a great balance between all aspects as i said before, just needs a better consistency.
From 20% to 45% we have a ball part which contains a really nice design, also using an amazing color palette. I'd like to point out here how it uses the song with some details like the background, or some little pulses the whole level contains as well. This part is with difference the most remarkable one in the level, but also making it feel way too different from one part to other one. Leading to what i mean with level needing a better consistency between parts, not about style or designs at all. Just about details, this part doesn't feels empty at all compared to these short parts between 50%-70% where cube goes to the background gameplay. Tho, these parts are interesting and well executed too as an idea. These transitions does work well here but maybe it lacks of details to feel consistent at all.
Last part is really well made! Like the first one. Has a decent quality which makes the beginning and the end have a nice contrast and equality about details, i'd also love to see some more things like indicators here. Not to help the player at all, because level is by itself intuitive, but to make it not feel empty, instead consistent. In a general view also, there are a few animations that might need different easings to fit the style in a better way, some movements feel too quick for level purpose and even for song usage.
For this being the first razGMD level i see, seeing this before its release in Viprin + Paste Discord Server has things to point out for future projects, but razGMD did a great job here. Not leaving at all from the style he wanted to give to this level, also having a decent gameplay for its difficulty requested. I'd love to see more from him, there's a big potential in his hands to make unique levels on any style he wants to adapt.
Review written 4/20/2025 iirc
I followed the building process of Trinket from the beginning to the end, as RazGMD and I are both very active in the Viprin + Paste Discord server, and was excited to play the level upon its release yesterday. (I was actually offline while it released; it was not out when I logged off and when I came back it was already featured). Trinket is a modern level and RazGMD's first rated level. It starts off with a mini cube part with a color scheme of white, pink, and dark purple, a color scheme I like, as I am pretty big fans of both pink and purple. It's a more simple part, with a block design that is kinda reminiscent of some of my levels (for those who have never played my levels, aka most people as I have 0 cp, some of my levels, such as ALASTORTHERATIODEMON and , have block designs consisting of a few different smaller designs cobbled together, but I digress). I do like the first part of Trinket, and it is followed by a pretty cool transition into the second part, a ball part. The second part is different from the first part, with pink and brown and a little bit of white in its color scheme. The background consists of small immobile pink dots and large pink dots that move to the beat of the song, a background that I personally enjoy. The block designs I enjoy too, and the part is a bit less empty than the first part. You then become a cube and speed up a bit before going into another cool transition, this time into a robot part. This part has a similar color scheme to the first part, albeit with a pink background rather than a white one. I once again like the block designs in this part, although it only lasts a few seconds before doing a cool transition into a mini cube part that I find a bit too simple for my liking. It then coolly transitions back into more cool robot part, before coolly transitioning back into more simple mini cube part. You then do yet another cool transition into a big cube part, the last part of the level. The color scheme is different from the first parts, with blues replacing the pinks of the first 73% of the level, although that is not a bad thing whatsoever. It's like this for a few seconds before you become mini and grayscale, and then big and with color again, then mini and grayscale for a brief moment before color returns and the blocks and spikes move below the ground, being replaced with the name of the level in a cool font. I enjoy this part as much as I did the first parts, and personally agree with the level's feature rating and 5* difficulty; I also enjoy the gameplay too. I am excited to see what RazGMD brings to the table in the future!
