This goes extremely hard
so glad i got the opportunity to playtest this because imo the gameplay ended up being way more polished than sergio's past 2 lse levels lol
in my top 3 favourite levels of the year (redeemer, wretched, this) and now that i'm actually here writing the review i realise i dont have that much to say oops
a lot of the things i said about no more can probably also be said about this and like idk i just realllllllllyyyyyy like itttt
One of the most memorable experiences i've had with a level since the release of 2.2 and upon looking at the level it should be fairly obvious why that is. The visuals are very bold, often more alike to those typical of previous updates, which can lead to some whiplash, both in a positive and negative sense. The deco isn't particularly cohesive and it's quality is pretty inconsistent, but most of the time it still manages to maintain a unique atmosphere, with the almost psychedelic looking parts at the song's chorus being the highlights. A major exception to that is the 1.0-styled part near the beginning, which fails to capture the intensity of the song and briefly takes you out of the world that the level builds. It's a short section of the level, which lessens its impact on the overall experience, but i still believe a decorated part would've fit the style way better. The biggest issue with the visuals from my experience was the (in my opinion) excessive use of bright flashes and blur in certain sections, which made practicing some parts a chore and affected the level's enjoyability.
The gameplay is pretty inoffensive, which is to be expected from a level this long. It may take longer to learn than other levels in its difficulty range, but it's very consistent once learned. The two primary aspects weighing down the score were the aforementioned visuals and the first 20-30% of the level being the most straightforward part. Because of that, actually beating the level can be rather time consuming. It's a decent test of nerve control though, which combined with the level being relatively easy to fluke makes it a good option for newer players trying to learn to beat longer levels.
ur twitter crashout was embarrassing. imagine getting so upset over a rating u got on a site where ur supposed to give ratings, that u make a whole post about it. ur ego is visible from a plane
