I love rollercoasters and having fun, this has all the profound creativity I’m looking for in levels but the execution is just not there no matter how I turn my mind to it. I do hope the future gives us more slope oriented auto levels regardless of that, it will be all traced back from here
This level is the perfect poster child for a genre of level from this era that I can really only define as "this was definitely made by a young child".
I was so enamored by GD when I was younger, especially at the thought of making my own levels. I only had the lite version originally and after seeing some of my friends get the full version and learn that there was a level editor, ideas started brewing in my mind. I was in the process of convincing my parents to get me the game, so in the meantime, I would draw level ideas on paper. After finally getting the full version, I was bombarded by all the new block types that I never knew were in the game. So what did I do? I tried them all out! I made a couple levels, fueled by this curiosity to try out all the tools that were given to me. Ideas for new levels ran rampant in my mind. Slowly over time however, this curiosity faded as I played more online levels. They were brilliantly crafted experiences that my creations could never compare to. My creativity started to become boxed in and my motivation to build dwindled as a result.
Why do I share this? To put it simply, this level is nostalgic for me. This level brings back memories that remind me of the creativity and whimsy I used to have for this game. For example, auto levels back then were so interesting to me. I can't really articulate why, but I think it is a relatively shared sentiment by people from my age demographic when we played the game back then. As a result, about half the levels I built back then were auto. I just really enjoyed building them. roller coaster is an auto level. The name "roller coaster" also brings back memories about my first ever YouTube obsession. That, of course, was roller coaster POV videos.
That brings me back to the building style of this level. Everything is hap-hazard. Everything. I imagine the creator of this level had a similar creative drive as my own. They were likely enamored by auto levels, roller coasters, and the level editor itself. Everything could be a great idea. Everything was at their fingertips. And they wanted to try it all, culminating in this massive mess of a level that I just adore.
🎢 The most confusing and questionable type of auto gampelay, the cluttered and random assortments of crappy decoration, the amateur-ish colorful effects, the usage of the most kickass Garlagan track while simultaneously having the worst and best sync ever, all jam-packed into a crushing XL runtime.
🎢 This is a honorary 0/10. This is the "Corey Feldman - Angelic 2 The Core" of GD levels. It's amazing at being awful, and I genuinely cannot get enough. This is an auto level that spans over 30+ updates and it still manages to mess up every single technical aspect of what makes a geometry dash level work. I think it's intentional, I think it's freaking bonkers, and I absolutely had so much fun with it.
