i'm such a sucker for crazy effect levels like this, and the fact that millepattes part of it was made in 2.1's infancy?? actually nuts what millepatte was able to do in this. ilrell also builds off it so well, and i still can't even grasp how a lot of the stuff in the drop was done to this day. i think it would still be highly impressive with 2.2's features. the animation leading into the drop is also just straight aura, probably my favorite transition ever made in gd
I actually don’t have too many strong opinions on this level, but I’ll try to review it anyways
The gameplay has some issues, especially at the drop, with some really annoying set-up based dash orbs & some annoying duals. I’m not a huge fan of some of the moving objects and weird visuals that obscure the gameplay as well It definitely feels like it was aged, but it’s still decent enough for some to enjoy, even if it’s not my cup of tea
The decoration is OLD. It’s very obviously early-end 2.1, with very simple block designs and backgrounds for the first 40% of the level, with some more originality with colors and designs later. I do wish there was more parts that had cohesion, since it feels kind of disconnected at times as well. It’s decent for the time, but not great by today’s standards.
Overall, it’s decent, but it’s certainly aged quite a bit, and not the finest at that. Gameplay is a 40/100, with deco at a 55/100, overall a rounded up 5/10
