boogie has always been an interesting level for me, nowadays it’s pretty rare to see these kind of xxl levels, especially on the easier side, and i’ve been aware of its existence for a while, probably since it came out. reviewing this level before beating it (i always consider beating this but never get to it) is probably affecting it since with how i see it it’s very fun, almost every victor calls it super fun and enjoyable, and while i have done a few practice runs of it, i honestly forgot about the gameplay.

the decoration looks pretty good, no part is unpleasant to look at and it does a great job at keeping me invested for the entire 6 minutes of its duration. it’s common for other popular long levels, especially travels, to feel more like a journey with a feeling of progression. boogie does something i REALLY like, by changing between styles several times, and it works every time it does. from glow to art, especially the SICK break part in the middle that gives me chills without even playing it. boogie doesn’t feel like a long journey with a destination to get to. it truly feels like an endurance test, being very fast paced for its entire duration and making it more a push to make it through the massive length. i like how on a first playthrough it feels relatively infinite, it feels like it never ends. and then the level just ends there. i honestly like that ending, it doesn’t hint at any point that you’re close to finishing and it just looks like it keeps going, until it hits you with “there, you’re done.” it must feel so rewarding to actually complete this

i will say though, not every part is interesting. even if it constantly jumps between styles, a lot of the parts feel very similar, and a little generic. the deco is pretty basic most of the time, although when it changes it’s very satisfactory. the gameplay is also a pleasure to watch, but it’s kind of repetitive all the way through, as someone that hasn’t played it. i love how it works with the song so much, but since the song is repetitive, the gameplay is bound to be so as well.

overall, i’m a fan of boogie, and i might get around to beat it eventually... just give me like 10 more years

i had a phenomenal experience with this level the way it is and i wasn't expecting anything better or worse. i'm delighted to have a "new hardest" that's supposedly top #482, gddl rank 26, and nlw insane tier, all of which are complete exaggerations. as a mobile player this is definitely the most overrated extreme in existence you cannot deadass tell me that ts is harder than bloodbath

nerves from from inconsistency/chokepoints, not simply just length. that's why many xxl levels kinda suck, because often half the parts are like stereo madness difficulty and then the other half is harder and actually engaging, but unfortunately the stereo madness parts ruin it and then they make the level feel unbalanced and scary to play

although boogie has the "harder" gameplay, it's constant, with no mood changes and almost perfect balance, and it's never more than medium demon difficulty, so not much nerves personally, and i don't even find it nessescarily harder than the other xxl levels

look at cicada3302. it's 7 minutes long layout with the unbalanced and scary parts like i mentioned. it's also a minute longer and has bugs that can kill you far into the level. but it's ranked at like top 900? meanwhile i found this level far more pleasant and functional (and again, not really harder), but it's so much higher, how does that make sense?

the only explanation i can see for such an irrationally high ranking is the fact that it's kind of a waste of time to learn, but again, it's easy/med demon difficulty gp, the level is very obviously nerfed and dumbed down a lot throughout, the learning process didn't feel overwhelming to me at all. and i'm really picky with extremes and literally cannot stand any others that aren't just 99% learny and 1% anything directly difficult like this level. or the people who gave "opinions" looked at the level for a mere 5 nanoseconds without really thinking about it

More of an experience than a level, to be honest. I personally LOVE the feeling of being far in really long levels. It's such a nice feeling of intensity and focus that made me fall in love with Geometry Dash in the first place, and this level checks all the boxes.
