While it's disappointing that SADOMASOCHISM doesn't live up to its name visually, there certainly is something very intimate about the brutal, overtly adversarial position challenges occupy in relation to the player. I quite like how reminiscent the visuals and song are of classic rage game aesthetics, too. It does add a bit of personality to your mistress.

A masterpiece of a click pattern, every part of it flows into itself effortlessly and progresses steadily, building up suspense slowly until the level has you so nervous that the last part, which is exponentially easier and less click-dense than the rest of the level feels just as nervewracking and significant, with the last three clicks feeling like breaking through a wall that once looked immovable. As someone who has beaten the level and knows it through and through, I could go on and on about how every little detail of it‘s gameplay I love, but I would way rather everyone plays it and experiences it for themselves.

The balancing is just as incredible, providing for a perfectly linear progression in which one consistently gets slightly more consistent from zero every two or three sessions (getting to 10 just about every attempt, then 20, then 30, then 40 until about 50 at which point a completion is usually right around the corner)

Lastly, we come to the visuals. At first my high rating here might look a little perplexing, but I feel like the lack of glow and rigid lines perfectly compliment how „sharp“ the click pattern feels. The level needs nothing but the occasional pulses and the elegant wave movements it‘s gameplay creates to be more pleasing to the eye than a majority of highly detailed levels I‘ve seen.

I wish for nothing more than I wish to be able to erase this level from my memory so I could experience it again from scratch. The only complaint i could possibly muster up is that the level‘s name is Sadomasochism, seeing as the level will only grant you the opposite of pain.
