i like some things going on individually in this but unfortunately i feel like the song representation is close to zero and only serves to tie together different alright-looking ambiences that don't evoke much in me into one small level: it all kind of feels like its Forced To Be A Level you know? i did like the last auto part with the temple tho: that was kinda genius

U cannot be talking about "experimental levels being caricatures of themselves" if ur making levels like this brah, turn your brain on

I really really really wanted to like this one more since I think the level opens very strongly. Ambient songs are super underrated in GD and the first part almost nailed it, stunted by the glitch effect and weird black structures. I think the whole level would work a lot better if it stayed like this, but it unfortunately doesn't. Honestly I think the visuals and song on their own are both super interesting but they just clash together in this level; the effects are way too sporadic and intense throughout and the percussion is basically unacknowledged which is a shame.

ps. To have this kind of outlook on experimental levels while also hating stuff that actually goes somewhere with its runtime is inexcusably lame. I harbor little critical restraint to somehow who treats "quirky" levels like they're somehow ruining the game, when they often contain more substance than anything else you'll find.

This level uses a wide variety of very interesting design choices. Again, I'm not a big fan of easy gameplay, but the deco definitely has a lot more going on. The seemingly random placements of objects all around the level greatly add to the atmosphere that it has.

This level is interesting for sure, no other way to start breaking it down

This level has a lot of unique concepts, but I feel like a lot of it just doesn’t quite fully execute properly. It’s certainly “raw”, but it’s so raw that it feels like OnlyTrying didn’t quite put in as much effort as it was intended to (or that they did). It lacks a ton of polish, and while it tries to do song representation, it kind of feels like it missed the mark at times. The concepts are cool but it misses a ton of the important elements that this really needed to make it feel more complete. I like what’s existent, but I know OnlyTrying can do experimental styles with more polish, and I would have liked to have seen that here

Unfortunately, the gameplay is just kind of meh, it’s a minute of barely anything ship & the last 20% is auto, which is just frankly boring and is probably what stopped this from getting rated sooner. It’s not bad, just incredibly boring

Overall, the gameplay is a 25/100, and the decoration is a 47/100, for an overall 3/10

cool map. i like how unpolished the visuals look, it adds to the charm. the drop jumpscared me and that was a pleasant surprise. neat level, could be better for sure but you know what, it is not bat at all! Cool little experience
