It's very obvious that this level is very personal to its creator. The way PAHC portrayed his emotions using simple designs and pulses is impressive, it feels powerful and makes me feel different. I've never seen anything like this before
Awesome level 10/10
Cosmic by PAHC is the seventh (or eighth depending on whether you include SAVE AS) level you visit while playing Over Again by PAHC the intended way. Dying to the first spike in this level 20 times reveals 1/4th of the next code to progress in the puzzle hunt.
According to the level description, this level is supposed to be an "exploration of grief" - sounds like this dude is just running out of ideas. He saw SAVE AS popped off as an "exploration of dementia" so he thought Huh, I wonder what other human affliction I could milk to get clicks on my account and settled on grief.
I honestly had no idea this level was about grief until I read the description, it feels like an afterthought as a theme. The song in particular seems very unfitting for a level about grief.
That being said, this level is alright for what it is I guess. It has some neat effects that remind me of Lonely Travel due to the grayscale theme. The gameplay is alright I guess, nothing amazing.
This level also ends with yet another of PAHC's monologues. People commented on PAHC Never Clear by WKGames that WKGames needs an ego death, but somebody else clearly fits the bill.
In all seriousness though, I am sorry for PAHC's loss. The death of a family member is never easy, and I find it cool PAHC managed to channel that grief into a creation like this.
I would prefer if he hadn't channeled it into giving WKGames a 12-hour comment ban and calling him an "A-Hole", but I suppose Cosmic makes up for these outbursts.
I always really liked the way the story is narrated, feels like it was written by PAHC's past self rather than it just being a retrospection; however I'm not too big on how the visuals complement the narrative especially in the second half, which feels slightly rushed to me. I can still tell it's a really personal level and he should absolutely be proud of it.
god do i wish this wasnt AS much of a polymer-esque level and i wish i didnt decide to heavily downgrade the last part. used to be my fave of mine by far but on rewatch it's great not fantastic. still, a really solid level that i like the execution of, even if i was a bit too head over heels about it for the first few years
