The more I played this, the more I was tempted to just mute the song, which I never felt like that for another song in a level. It doesn't actually sound that bad on a first listen, but having to hear it over and over again gave me a headache. Thankfully I beat the level just before resorting to muting it.
As for the gameplay, it's fine, exactly what you'd expect from a click sync flow level made by modern "gameplay creators". There's also a huge chokepoint with the wave part at the end which is MUCH harder than anything else, and an incredibly luck based transition near the end of it, so thats fun.
Just like the gameplay, the visuals in this level are very mediocre. This is just another one of those happy and colourful looking levels which were really popular and massively overdone at the time. I guess it makes a little more sense in this case because of the song, but still.
This is where decimal ratings would've been great, mainly because i dont believe this level is actually a 10/10. However, it gets pretty close. Overtime, to me, is a flashy, vibrant, and exciting work that has super fun and approachable gameplay and a great (and nostalgic) song. My only real problem with this level (if you can even consider it one) is that some of the gameplay feels a bit cheap or unfair at times and the wave spam couldve been approached in a different way. Even still, as someone who enjoys spam, the drop wave is really cool and represents the song in a good way.
worst level in the game, probably
the song is less awful than i remember and there's ONE good background so i guess it's not really a 0 but oh my GOD. i hate this thing with a burning passion
The best level swap of all time and will probably stay that way. Amazing gameplay and colorful and joyful decoration with an absolute banger of a song.
