A megacollab like this is once in a blue moon, LIMBO captures what it needs to capture, a dreamy, spacey, atmospheric visual adventure. Some things bring down this levels quality like lieb's part, not to say that it's bad it just doesn't feel spacey or hyper as other parts. This level also has a story that Mindcap made and, oh boy is it story. A level like this doesn't really need a story, even if the level HAS a non-corny story, it should be told by the visuals and the atmosphere . Moving onto more positive stuff i feel like this level had one of the best role-outs ever, Mindcap teased a level just for it to be a verification video, Mindcap really planed everything perfectly, this is also evident by "Collab level". the visuals are the best part, it takes on a design type style which is becoming more and more rare in extreme demons and it just so happens that this level does it perfectly, nothing more to say, probably the best megacollab OAT!
probably one of the best gd levels of all time
It just aged so badly I'm not gonna lie, if it came out in early 2021 I would've liked it more but it's still eh
Not the best megacollab, but the level most suited to being a blockbuster directed by GD's finest host. The most impressive thing LIMBO does is use the vastly differing visions of its army of creators to assemble a series of trials within its vast and disorienting setting. It's for this reason that I'm glad Mindcap seemingly gave everyone the green light to run wild with whatever hyper-detailed, decadent, flashy puzzles they could come up with; unfortunately, not every creator made the most of this opportunity. In a somewhat amusing manner, it is the tedious coherence of some of these segments that makes LIMBO somewhat fatiguing, and not in a way that would contribute tonally.
way too inconsistent and incohesive to leave me with anything honestly, i do really like a few parts in this though (flash's and pocke's in particular are fantastic)
I forgor. Then I rember.
What can I say, the level is pretty known... my thoughts on it are probably the same or similar as majority of people in here - peak memory level. It just doesn't get better. It uses the editor tools to their extremes, creating something irreplaceable and unique. Each part in this megacollab has something going for it. It's just a huge idea dump that was put into the right hands, merged and planned out by a mastermind. It was a given on how much significance this level was bound to have, and rightfully so - it's definitely nothing to sneeze at. As much as I am a big fan of the creativity poured into it - I don't necessairly think the visuals are used to their full potential - there's nothing bad within them, but I feel like there always could have been something better done in certain parts. I am not complaining though.
I respect the vision of this level a lot. I think that the parts that succeed outnumber those that don't, and when those parts succeed with flying colors. The ending in particular is one of the best in the game's history, it's iconic for a reason. That said, it's brought down by some of the lesser parts, and even when the parts are individually good the level overstays its welcome a bit in my opinion.
