blue hour is such an interesting level to me.
presenting itself as a weirdly half-hearted suicide "what if" poem from when suixam was deeply depressed, it carries with it a lot of really heavy emotion that's only expanded on by the song and the level's general atmosphere. it's cold, dreary and dark, with barely visible gameplay and a general sense of sorrow to it, epecially as you approach the more blunt final lines that directly mention wanting to hear you're good enough "one last time".
except that isn't the level. not really. i'm rating this based on the update released a few months ago, an update that... essentially obscures the text. no longer is the poem there. it's not even available to read at all. you cant toggle it in - hell, i don't believe its in the editor, even. the only marks left of that poem at all are lines where it used to be. the fact the lines are still there makes the level for me.
as far as im aware suixam altered the level when he felt he was no longer happy with having a level this dark on his account, but his deliberate (very deliberate, considering the subtle coloration on the lines) choice to leave a semblance of the text in shows a maturity i haven't seen much. the lines imply a text that had once been present, and indeed if you search up the level on youtube the results do show you the version with that text still present. the scars are still there and present and suixam isn't trying to hide them to make for a more pleasant playing experience. he just wants it to be your choice whether you accept this version or not.
the initial version of this level would've been a 9, but suixam does something beautiful with it that i havent really seen before in levels - something which may as well make it my favorite level in the game.
suixam allows himself to move on.
