– Gameplay Design (9.8/10)
• Tags: High-CPS // Timings
The gameplay for this level is based around very fast timing inputs. While still being an Extreme Demon, the difficulty is mitigated by the overall sync that the gameplay has to the song. It is very well designed, and gets very consistent upon practice.
Keep in mind that the level has a lasting difficulty curve, slowly getting harder and harder the further you progress into the level, thus meaning the hardest parts of the level are right at the ending, and the last section also has higher CPS than all of the past parts before it.
Some points are deducted due to some parts of the end being skippable, which indicates lack of testing, clearly not intended by the creator.
– Visual Execution (9.6/10)
• Tags: Hell // Effect/Glow
This level is beautiful. The overall designs fit well into the level, and it's theme is very well executed. A lot of the effects are clearly thought out, and the level has a nice sense of progression. The level may feel empty at times personally, but the constant moving effects mostly make up for the simpler designs.
Due to the nature of heavy effects, I would not recommend this to anyone who has any sort of epilepsy or sensitivity to flashing lights.
– Optimization Density (6/10)
OBS: I do not rank LDMs usually, and this is no exception.
Unfortunately, Delirium Tremens is not a very optimized level, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with low-end and even some specific mid-range devices. The object density is quite grave (171k OBJ // 71 Secs), and the nature of the level leads to a constant use of triggers, be it move, pulse, alpha or color triggers, leading to further lag, the main culprit of such being the move triggers.
On some mid-range and most high-end devices, this won't be an issue and the level will run smoothly.
– Song Choice/Representation (10/10)
The song choice for this level is flawless. It has a very mysterious tone, but is also extremely energetic and erratic, fitting perfectly both with the gameplay design and the overall theme of the level, while also providing the intensity it needs. The overall flow is also met together with the progression it provides, making the entire level feel complete from start to finish.
As an extra, the song also sounds great, at least I would personally say.
– Historical Background ( – /10)
This level doesn't have much historical background, or rather any sort of history at all. It's simply an Extreme Demon collab between the two creators (Vadi & Drewch), and verified by Drewch after the level was finished.
– TLDR
Very well executed level, but not perfect by any means. The gameplay and decoration designs are great, however the optimization is quite poor. Very recommended for people who like timing or high-CPS levels. Begone people with epilepsy and sensitivity to flashing lights.
