How to pixel stands out among other pixel levels, largely due to the inane use of parallax throughout the level--not to mention the generally higher detail in block designs, compared to other pixel levels at least. It does to some extent subvert expectations for pixel levels in that it largely does not use 2.2 features, before finally using them in the final tower section of the level. Overall, the gameplay is fun and intuitive, and so the level received a well-deserved epic rating.
The level is not without its drawbacks, however. It is apparent that the level's quality increases throughout the level, which can create a disconnect between parts. still, the well-executed transitions help to alleviate this issue.
