Right now, the only way to add a rating to a level is via a review. You can leave it empty, which a lot of people do, but this results in the reviews section of a level (which should contain actual reviews) being filled with people's ratings, which tell me absolutely nothing about why they liked or disliked the level. It also makes it difficult to browse through a specific user's reviews to find their actual written thoughts on levels. In my opinion, there should be either a separate option for just rating a level without adding a review (while also making it so you can't submit an empty review), or an option to filter out empty reviews. The former would probably take a bit more time, as it'd require separate infrastructure for managing rates, since they'd now be their own thing, separate from reviews. If it sounds like I'm just trying to turn this website into RateYourMusic for GD levels, that's because I am.
Good idea
I agree with this, because most of the time when I want to rate a level, I mostly have nothing worthwhile to say. And I feel like it would be unfair to people who wants to actually read what people have to say.
Seconding this- I think there needs to be an overhaul in viewing reviews. On profiles, being able to sort reviews, not just from ratings, but also being able to sort them based on your rating of the level, length, etc.
