A preview of the in-progress decoration of Misanthrope appeared on my YT page today and I couldn't help but feel like it was wrong. The layout just oozes grandeur and terror while the deco makes it feel stale and lifeless. I understand why the decision was made to add deco because of rate standards, but I think this would be the perfect opportunity to push back on that standard because the layout is able to stand on its own so well.

Thoughts?

I completely agree, the layout is the main point of the level, and any deco thats placed on it kind of takes away from what made it special in the first place. But im open to seeing what it looks like when it eventually comes out.

Objectively, it should be decorated by the same layout creators.

I think anything other than black and white bichromatic color scheme doesn't work for the level at all so it's pretty bad rn imo

idk it just kinda feels like they're decorating it for the sole purpose of it having a chance at being rated if it gets verified rather than actually decorating it because they love the level

I mean I feel like the layout is already somewhat "decorated", in that it has more than the bare minimum required for gameplay. All attempts to decorate it further have failed.

It's hard to say. On one hand, I would like to see what'll be the final product of the level, but on the other, the layout is already incredibly solid on its own. It's a real tossup imo.

I was never of the belief that it should be decorated until I saw the recent WIP showcase. Roadbose's part in particular really sold it for me. Dude was in his bag. Plus, there seemed to be a few open slots, so you never know, Maybe they can get some more old creators to come out from the woodwork to decorate.

Regardless of what you think about rates, it's guaranteed a rate because Viprin is involved in the project, even though it's minor.
