definitely unfortunate we never got more of dhafin in his final form cuz he was really breaking into fascinating places in design, this being the obvious keystone. there's definitely a little taman influence but i can't really think of many other obvious influences. the sparseness of certain parts is something that needs time to grow on you, really the whole level is, but i def think this should be a classic among ppl interested in this era
i heard u liked clubstep remakes so we put clubstep remakes in ur clubstep remake
(this is a compliment. i dont think levels get any more clubstep than this one. the last most clubstep level was clubstep)
(also it looks really sick, given how big of a deal deadly clubstep is, one of the very first and incredibly influential Hard Levels, remaking it is quite the challenge and it nails it, like omg the way it does the piano part is so cool
desespoir doesnt hit as hard for me cuz this level already exists and is such a good take on the style but yeah, 1.9 gdps rly fumbled for a while for me but eventually started putting out some insane shit like this)
probably one of the most random seeming of my 9/10s, really is one i can't explain beyond i find it incredibly memorable (i remember seeing it first on youtube somewhere in earlier 2.0 and only finding it again about mid 2.1) and love the vibes. draykonic (formerly nukenacho) is definitely a really interesting creator i've only in the last couple years come around to and this isn't quite as rough as their rough to extremely rough earlier levels but still far from conventional. its the emptiness and weird pacing & gameplay and contrast with the song that really makes this one tick. i can't explain it any more than that, no level in the game that does whatever tf this level's doing
