Rating Curve

The gameplay looks cool but visually very uninteresting. At least Lotus was somewhat memorable in that it used quite jarring colour palettes while this just looks like nothing

I feel like if another level used this song it could succeed just as well as if Esencia never existed. That's not to say this level is worthless; I appreciate the experimentation with the (admittedly very underbaked) pseudo-1.0 style that was trending around 2018-2019 while using a song this geared towards intensity and speed. However the techniques that the modern-day creating scene has mastered were clearly not present when Esencia was made, as the whole level feels underwhelming in comparison to the song. Similarly, the structuring and the really poor use of glow makes it look pretty ugly :(

The visuals are painfully average and very uninspired. The gameplay is Not Good. Paired with its theme this level is functionally built to make you feel suicidal. Probably counts for something
