Merry christmas abso <3
Just overall prrtty cute. abos gp style is pretty distinct with lots of interesting spike placements and i think this level being themed around christmas and hence having ice, exemplifies the really weird spike structuring. the present part is also pretty nice to look at. overall just a nother decent level...
Certainly a level
I'm normally fine with Soundcloud breakcore used in GD levels but holy shit this sounds so goofy. Why. Otherwise very polished rendition of this blend of art style and (almost painfully) standard neodesign-inspired block design. Not too interesting as a result (4.5)
Luckily doesn't fully live in the shadow of sunward. Typically not a big fan of this comparatively amateur archetype of cometface neodesign, though how lazily everything floats around and the warm yet also lackadasicial-feeling colour palette parallels the song well. The very grounded setting of the post-drop robot feels like a rather odd diversion from the ship, though; and the level as a whole also has extremely tight gaps, contradicting its otherwise laidback ethos. Hence, sundrawn is quite scatterbrained overall, but I still did enjoy this level somewhat
A better level already exists with this song (Misanthrope) but this is similar levels of wacky as Titan Complex to me so I like it a bit (4.5). Noticeably restrained compared to TC because I unironically like some aspects of this
Really strange how the guys in the last 40% didn't seem to get the memo on the theming. At least the colours were bright in the first half even if not... violet at all. Past that point they becomes really muted for no reason
All of TaBu's levels that I've recently reviewed all fall under the umbrella of having not all too developed ideas but the level itself being pretty cute (4.5)
agree with below and i believe it's actually very relevant to the level. a lot of the community has boxed into their heads that the "rate standards" are reserved for levels that go above a certain level of polish, which is a pretty harmful way of thinking
