Ultimo universo takes a very unique approach to feeling larger-than-life, ironically using tiny, near unnoticeable details in video and vector-style graphics. Although seeming counterintuitive this minimalist approach succeeds unreasonably well. While this core design philosophy is not as flashy or awe-striking as others the execution nullifies this. Custom pulses and animations offset this feeling of familiarity, the frozen orbs at the start of the level especially giving the illusion that you are witnessing the birth of the universe in an attosecond by attosecond basis. Every section of gameplay while unfamiliar due to the minimalist structuring, feels pretty intuitive and engaging while also not being super difficult, allowing you to really appreciate the journey you're going through
I really like the "generic" blue tech theme that Vindication goes for. Despite the namesake I've given it I don't think I've seen many levels that really stick to it other than technoloid, which is an Auto level anyways. Other than the theming the structuring in this level is extremely minimalistic, being very basic and boxy with some loose blocks floating around, feeling nearly alien in contrast to the really well made backgrounds. Normally this would be a bad thing but this doesn't have the issue of the structuring obfuscating the backgrounds, allowing you to appreciate how looming the giant tech UI scopes are. This sort of scale really brings the level together for the level to undergo cycles of showing sleekness and then transitioning into controlled chaos
Gameplay is pretty nonconventional due to it being as simply constructed as the structuring. This is occasionally to its detriment but overall it's fun
Strange, snaking foliage opens into a great desert of only mortar and bricks. A travel level condensed into something only half its length. Nature, battered and bruised by scaffolding and caterpillar tracks is your only reward
As a standalone level this would probably be considerably weaker but I feel like it's fairer to rate this level as a series along with all the other tracks and levels. This is definitely my favourite section of the series
