Didn't know this was on the servers wowee. This soundtrack is another one of those that's stuck out to me deeply simply due to it being plain strange yet really good somehow? I think in general what makes me really like this is the gameplay that's truly down-to-earth yet pulled off so incredibly cleanly. The very non-sequitur progression also helps quite a lot in conveying a sense of absurdity; the level transitions from this formerly generic 1.9 GDPS crystalline deco then just randomly flashes hell imagery at you. Truly dissonant and captivating. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE
Pretty large improvement from CITYFADE; mainly my issues are in the entire video part. I get the whole gimmick of the part is a long droll with a (well done) gimmick but the repetitive pillar structuring with callbacks that unfortunately don't aid the song rep in any way feels like a bit of a compromise to make the gimmick easier to build which is, in fairness, not bad of a trade...? It's definitely not that the pillar structuring comes out of nowhere -- the first part uses them too -- but I just find their use tacky throughout, what with them being unsupported by any surrounding structures and all. The drop and everything before the middle is ridiculous though, no qualms about that mostly -- single-handedly makes up for most of the issues beforehand.
Now that I think about it there is also a really blatant disconnect between the lyrics and the level. Nornally lyrics doing this is not an issue but the captions, while neat otherwise also make it much more obvious...
The new version is actually a decent improvement from the old version albeit just as unmemorable. Still looks nothing like Black Blizzard
hidden gem of a creator
Probably the weakest of Alvaro's recent levels
Weird gameplay. Looks nice though
