Funnygame was playing with some pretty hot fire with this, namely the last part and the overall theming around clocks, however I feel like the ship part is notably quite weak in contrast with the rest; the rainbow colours don't look very good...
Still, this level somehow hints at further potential from Funnygame
Really, really love the many many callbacks to horror media in this level. Rather nostalgic in that sense whenever I can recognise something as a reference. Even for the parts that I don't theyre almost always something rarely done in levels in general. Not really any standout parts in this one as theyre all very consistently great despite a good amount of deco repetition. Unfortunately as a result of this homogeny in quality and style it does feel like it drags on for a bit too long especially since the song does drag on too
The portrayal of delirium / heatstroke in this level is kind of an insane concept
Truly the only level from the World Gauntlet to really break of out the mold. Instead of overrelying on trying to insert every cultural reference it is way more calculated in its approach to tackling the prompt. Cave systems were a really cleever way to go about addressing the prompt since America's cultural heritage otherwise is... not really that great to make a compelling non-irony poisoned level about
Absolutely did not deserve the drama surrounding it
One of the first sparks of cometface's genius
